The Foundation for Youth Development (FYD) has taken major strides toward a more impactful future during its latest Executive Committee meeting, held at its Dhaka headquarters dated 31 May, 2025. The session was marked by bold decisions, a clear strategic direction, and renewed energy to fuel youth empowerment across the nation.
In a landmark decision, the Executive Committee unanimously selected Mirza Rakib Hasan Shovon, FYD’s Founding President, as the organization’s first-ever Executive Director (ED). After repeated requests from all members, Mr. Shovon accepted the role — but only on the condition that he would not take any salary or benefits, choosing instead to serve fully as a volunteer. This important decision ensures a smooth continuation of vision and leadership, strengthening FYD’s commitment to excellence, integrity, and long-term growth.

The Committee also finalized the date for FYD’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled for June 28, 2025. The AGM will serve as a vital platform for reviewing achievements, discussing institutional development, and approving key policy directions.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. Khalilur Rahman, President of FYD, with active participation from Secretary General Nasrin Nahar Jeneva, Treasurer Md. Shamsuzzaman, and other esteemed Executive Committee members. Their collaborative efforts and strategic insights helped lay the groundwork for the exciting journey ahead.

With visionary leadership, a sharper organizational focus, and a clear roadmap, FYD is ready to amplify its impact and continue driving youth-led change and sustainable community development across Bangladesh and beyond.
