Future Corporate Leader: Jahid Hasan

At Amaya Industries, the exclusive distributor of Xiaomi consumer electronics in Bangladesh, Jahid Hasan is an experienced sales manager. Equipped with a marketing bachelor’s degree, Jahid started his career as a sales representative while still a student. Prior to taking on the position of National Sales Manager at Amaya Industries, his professional journey took him to Solar Electro Bangladesh Limited (SEBL), a national distribution firm for Xiaomi. Jahid’s success lies in his commitment to effective communication and innovative approaches, ensuring his team’s adaptability to market changes. With a track record of overcoming challenges and driving high-performance cultures, Jahid Hasan is a dynamic leader in the field of sales.

Let’s learn about his journey.

I pursued my bachelor degree in Marketing from a private university. I started my career as a sales representative while I was a student. After that I have had the opportunity to work for one of Xiaomi’s national distribution companies named Solar Electro Bangladesh Limited (SEBL) which led me to my current role as National Sales Manager at Amaya Industries (national distributor of Xiaomi consumer electronics).

The main key to success in the execution of converting a idea into a potential business with effective communication. My approach to any business communication was to ensure commitment and maintain effective communication to my partners and stakeholders during my entire tenure as Sales Manager at Amaya Industries.

I have always believed in innovative approach and constant growth when it comes to making a substantial impact in the market. My strategy is to stay updated on newest of technologies, analyze it and see if aligns with the business goal. At the same time, I study and observe the brand’s competitors’ approach to the same adaptation to understand their strategy to the market.

The field of sales, no matter which industry does it belong to, has its own challenges and barriers that requires mitigation time to time. One of such challenges surfaced back in first quarter of 2023 when we were launching one of our exclusive products for the first time in Bangladesh and I had to guide our sales team to chase the vision. Furthermore, even though it can be difficult to launch a new product into the market, it’s critical to highlight the financial and long-term advantages for all involved parties. And in such a circumstance, I had to collaborate with both my team and the distribution channel to comprehend their unique requirements and modify the offering appropriately.

In every business, it is important to drive the numbers after a certain period of time. And thankfully, we as a team achieved that through a combination of reinforcing the value proposition, offering customized packages, lucrative incentive program, transparent communication about product roadmaps, and collaborative problem-solving. This strategy not only secured a significant contract for Amaya Industries but also strengthened the relationship with the client.

To generate a high-performance culture within the sales team, it is important to clearly communicate sales targets, expectations, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to your team. Which is why I ensure that each team member understands their individual goals and how should they contribute to the overall team objectives.

One of the key responsibilities of a sales manager is to provide high-priority technologies and an efficient approach to pursuing sales targets. I always attempt to create uncharted territory for exploring technique and lead my team to an innovative approach in order to help my sales team reach their full potential. As a sales manager, I constantly encourage my staff to satisfy distributor demands, inquire about their needs, and offer them the incentives they require in order to maintain the smooth operation of product distribution.

It is very important to accept every setback as a chance to improve. And it is absolutely essential to take every “no” as a “not yet,” and every difficulty as a chance to demonstrate your resiliency. With every rejection, you’re getting closer to that overwhelming “yes” that will completely transform your life. So, I would like to say this to the readers who are making their way in the industry – Keep believing in the value you bring and keep refining your skills. Every setback serves as a plot element that propels you toward your next victory since your journey is one of personal development. Continue to be driven, and never stop believing!
