“Local Entrepreneur Sirajul Islam Urges Government Intervention to Ease Economic Struggles in 2024”
My name is Sirajul Islam, and I hail from the charming town of Mymensingh. For the past 17 years, I’ve been deeply engrossed in the hair business here in Dhaka. However, as I glance into the approaching horizon of 2023, it appears to hold meager prospects for prosperity. Despite my persistent efforts, the financial ledger reveals a disheartening reality—I manage to earn only 500 taka while grappling with expenses totaling 800 taka. The palpable loss of 300 taka exacerbates the challenges of an already arduous situation.
The economic landscape seems to be shifting against us, with the cost of living soaring to unprecedented heights. Every commodity, from basic necessities to luxuries, has become burdened with exorbitant price tags. As a consequence, the endeavor to sustain my family becomes increasingly strenuous.
Looking ahead to 2024, my aspirations are not grandiose; I harbor only one earnest plea for the government—to alleviate the burden on citizens by reducing the prices of essential products. Such a measure would undoubtedly be a beacon of hope, illuminating the path towards a more sustainable and comfortable life for countless individuals like myself.
As the clock ticks away the remaining moments of 2023, I extend my heartfelt wishes for a Happy New Year to everyone. May the upcoming year bring positive changes and, in particular, may the authorities heed the voices of the common people, fostering an environment conducive to the well-being of all.
