In recognition of the strong leadership in the formulation and implementation of the Digital Bangladesh and unique contribution to improving the quality of life of the people of Bangladesh, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been awarded the ‘WITSA Eminent Persons Award-2021 on the third day of the World Congress on Information Technology 2021 (WCIT 2021) in Dhaka.
State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak received the award on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from WITSA Secretary General Dr James Poizant.
WITSA has given awards to several organizations from different countries under three categories.
Planning Minister MA Mannan, ICT Senior Secretary NM Ziaul Alam and BCS President Shahid-Ul-Munir were also present there.
Receiving the award, it was further stated that apart from taking a strong stand against fundamentalism, terrorism and militancy, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has always worked tirelessly to ensure food security and suffrage for every citizen of Bangladesh.
At the same time, the socio-economic development of the country has been accelerated due to the capable leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
Besides, Bangladesh has won three more awards in three different categories. These are: ‘Sustainable Growth / Circular Economy’ Award for BGMEA, ‘Innovation e-Health Solutions’ Award for National Health Window’ and ‘E-Education and Learning’ Award for Daffodil International University.
