Shamim Hossain’s boundary in the final over sealed the victory for the home side, with Captain Shakib al Hasan playing a crucial role, remaining not out on 18 off 11 balls. Despite a slight stumble in the middle overs, Bangladesh’s openers provided a solid foundation, and contributions from Towhid Hriody and Afif Hossain ensured a safe passage to victory.

Earlier, Bangladesh’s bowlers, led by Taskin Ahmed and Nasum Ahmed, restricted Afghanistan to 116-7. Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib-al-Hasan also made important contributions with the ball.
