“New Year Reflections: From Improved Infrastructure to Economic Challenges, A Call for Government Action on Unemployment”
My name is Mamunul Haque Momin, hailing from the village of Brahmanbaria. Engaged in the noble yet challenging profession of scavenging alongside my father, I reflect upon the rollercoaster that was the year 2023. Alhamdulillah, I find myself in good health, but the landscape of our lives has been marked by both favorable and challenging events.
One noteworthy positive aspect has been the commendable development initiated by the government. The once dilapidated roads of our village have undergone a transformative improvement, facilitating smoother and safer travel. In our line of work, we’ve witnessed a marked improvement as well, signifying progress in sectors that are often overlooked.
However, the dark cloud of rising commodity prices looms over some families, making it arduous for them to sustain their livelihoods. It’s a stark reminder that, despite the broader positive changes, economic challenges persist for many. As I count my blessings, I can’t help but empathize with those grappling to make ends meet.
Looking ahead to 2024, my earnest plea to the government is to address the issue of unemployment that plagues our society. Numerous individuals roam the streets, eager and willing to work but hindered by the lack of opportunities. If the government could orchestrate employment initiatives, it would not only alleviate the financial strain on families but also contribute to the overall prosperity of our community.
In this new year, my hope is for a brighter and more inclusive future. By creating avenues for employment, the government can uplift the lives of many, fostering a society where everyone has the means to lead a dignified and fulfilling life. Happy New Year to all, and may the coming days bring positive changes that benefit us all.
