Let’s learn about his journey.
Mr. Zannatun Naime Pavel, please share your professional and academic peregrination for our readers!
My professional journey spans over six years in the e-commerce and Agri-Tech industries, where I’ve worked as an HR & Admin Manager. I have a strong background in human resources, with expertise in managing recruitment, compliance, employee development, and administrative processes. I hold a BBA and MBA is running in Human Resource Management as well from Prime University, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in my field. Throughout my career, I have focused on fostering positive employee relations, ensuring operational efficiency, and driving organizational growth.
What unique challenges and opportunities do you encounter in the agricultural sector, and how does your role help address them?
In the agricultural sector, unique challenges include dealing with seasonal labor, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and managing remote and diverse teams. There’s also the need to maintain high safety standards and handle the unpredictable nature of agricultural work.
As an HR & Admin Manager, I help address these challenges by recruiting the right talent, providing training to ensure safety and efficiency, and developing policies that comply with labor laws. I also focus on building strong communication channels within the team and fostering positive employee relations. These efforts help create a stable and productive work environment, allowing the organization to thrive even in a challenging industry like agriculture.
Can you discuss a significant HR challenge you’ve faced and how you successfully navigated it to benefit both the employees and the organization?
One significant HR challenge I faced was ensuring that all employees were working effectively and that their work could be tracked accurately. This was essential for fair performance appraisals and to ensure the organization was getting the best output from everyone.
To tackle this, I implemented a system of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). First, I worked with each department to define clear, measurable KPIs that aligned with our organizational goals. These KPIs helped track each employee’s performance and progress.
Next, I introduced regular check-ins and updates, so everyone knew how they were doing about their KPIs. This transparency helped employees understand what was expected of them and allowed them to focus on their key tasks.
For performance appraisals, I used the KPI data to provide objective feedback. This made the appraisal process fairer and more motivating for employees. They could see exactly where they excelled and where they needed improvement.
The result was a more organized and efficient work environment. Employees felt more engaged and motivated because they had clear goals and regular feedback. The organization benefited from improved performance and higher productivity. This system helped both employees and the company achieve their best.
