Let’s learn about his journey.

Mr. Sabbir Ahmed, please share your professional and academic peregrination for our readers!

Growing up in the tranquil village of Chuadanga, Bangladesh, my educational journey began at Victoria Jubilee High School. Surrounded by the simplicity of rural life, I laid the groundwork for my future aspirations. It was here that I completed my Secondary School Certificate (SSC), marking the first significant milestone in my academic path.

Continuing my quest for knowledge, I moved forward to Chuadanga Government College to pursue my Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC). Despite my background in science throughout my schooling, my heart was always drawn to the captivating world of business. From a young age, I found myself enamored by its intricacies and possibilities.

Upon reaching Dhaka, the bustling capital city, I made the pivotal decision to pursue my passion further. Enrolling in North South University’s Marketing department for my Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), I took a leap of faith into the realm of commerce and management. It was a departure from the familiar, yet it felt like a natural progression towards fulfilling my true calling.

My journey reflects not just a geographical transition but also a profound shift in personal aspirations. It’s a testament to the courage to follow one’s dreams, even when they diverge from the expected path. Embracing change and embracing my passion, I embarked on this new chapter with excitement, eager to explore the endless possibilities that lay ahead in the world of business and beyond.

Can you provide an overview of your experience and background in international business, and how it aligns with the goals of Lotto & Lee Coopers?

Throughout my time at North South University, I devoted myself to absorbing a wealth of case studies, each offering valuable insights into the inner workings of businesses. These studies not only broadened my understanding but also provided a standardized framework for comprehending various business strategies and operations. Simultaneously, I embarked on a part-time job journey starting in my third year of university. This experience proved invaluable as it offered me a firsthand look into the realities of business. Working alongside seasoned professionals, I gained a practical understanding of industry practices and challenges, which greatly enriched my academic knowledge. What made this part-time job particularly enriching was the caliber of clients served by the agency. With multinational corporations gracing their portfolio, I found myself immersed in an environment teeming with global perspectives and standards. This exposure not only sharpened my skills but also prepared me for the rigors of the international business arena. It was amidst these experiences that I received an enticing offer from Lotto and Lee Coopers for their prestigious Management Trainee positions. The recruitment process and HR policies of these companies were truly exceptional, reflecting their dedication to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of excellence. I am immensely grateful for the invaluable experiences and opportunities that have shaped my journey thus far, laying a strong foundation for a promising career in the dynamic world of global business.

As a management trainee, what specific skills and qualities do you bring to the table that make you well-suited for this role?

I possess strong leadership, analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills. These qualities positioned me as a top candidate during the recruitment process at Lotto and Lee Coopers, ultimately securing me the Management Trainee position. My leadership abilities helped me lead teams effectively, while my analytical skills enabled me to devise strategic solutions. Additionally, adept negotiation and communication skills facilitated smooth interactions with stakeholders. Above all, my problem-solving ability has been instrumental in navigating challenges and thriving in the dynamic environment of Lotto and Lee Coopers. I’m eager to continue leveraging these skills to contribute to the company’s success as a Management Trainee.

Mr. Sabbir Ahmed, Can you describe a time when you had to work effectively within a multicultural team? How did you ensure effective communication and collaboration?

One instance where I had the opportunity to work within a multicultural team was during a university project that required collaboration with students from diverse backgrounds. To ensure effective communication and collaboration, I first made an effort to understand and respect everyone’s cultural differences and perspectives. I encouraged open dialogue and created a supportive environment where team members felt comfortable expressing their ideas and opinions. Clear and concise communication was crucial, so I made sure to articulate tasks, goals, and deadlines effectively, considering potential language barriers. Moreover, I actively listened to my teammates, seeking to understand their viewpoints and leveraging their unique strengths. By fostering mutual respect and trust, we were able to capitalize on our diverse experiences and expertise, leading to innovative solutions and successful project outcomes. Overall, embracing diversity and promoting inclusive communication were key to our team’s effectiveness and cohesion.

Can you provide an example of a project or initiative you led that resulted in a measurable positive impact on the organization’s international operations?

During my time at university, I served as the Vice President of the Emak Center, an inter-university club. Amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, I took on the role of Coordinator and Event Head to organize a special event. This event aimed to uplift spirits and foster a sense of connection among students during a difficult time. We launched an event where students had the opportunity to share their Eid stories. This initiative aimed to provide a platform for students who were struggling with COVID-19-related depression to express themselves and find solace in community support. It was truly heartwarming to see how this event brought joy and comfort to many students.

Witnessing the positive impact our event had on students’ well-being was immensely fulfilling. Knowing that we were able to provide a space for students to share their experiences and feel supported during such challenging times filled me with a sense of pride and gratitude. It reaffirmed the importance of community and compassion, especially in times of adversity.
