On 3rd May 2025, HeadStart Professional Accountancy Services, a Gold Approved Learning Partner of ACCA Global, hosted yet another groundbreaking training program titled “Campus 2 Corporate” for ACCA Future Members. This intensive, day-long training was designed for ACCA aspirants and university students aiming to build distinguished careers in business, accounting, and finance.
Held at the BRAC Learning Centre, the session started with networking between students from different places. The training saw the enthusiastic participation of around 100 attendees, including students from leading institutions such as North South University (NSU), Dhaka University (DU), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), Daffodil International University (DIU), European University, and more. The diversity of the audience enriched the learning environment and fostered broader perspectives on professional growth.
Mohammad Tanvir Hossain ACCA, ACMA, CGMA, Senior Director at EBAC, made his entrance among the audience with his unique style of ice-breaking. The session then moved to IFRS 17: Insurance Contracts. The participants delved into the world of insurance contracts with Mr. Tanvir’s amazing presentation on the introduction to the accounting standard.
After a short break, Mujibur Rahman ACCA, Founder & CEO of MR-Accountants, enlightened the students on how to kick-start career in the field of BPO & Freelancing. His interactive session enabled the young professionals to get a peek into the world of entrepreneurship. Mr. Mujibur Rahman ACCA ended the session with his story of starting his business and the challenges he faced, overcoming them to become “Mr. Accountant” himself. His workplace is opening new doors for accounting professionals who share the same dream as him.
Md Sohel Rana ACA, ACCA, CFC, CEO & Founder of SOHEL RANA & CO. Chartered Accountants & EBAC, engaged the audience with his session on business formation. His presentation taught young professionals about the different types of businesses that can be formed in Bangladesh, along with a step-by-step process on how to form them. This session gave startup aspirants a realistic view of the previous session conducted by Mr. Mujibur.
To add further value to the training, a specially curated segment, “Corporate Readiness Through Her Lens,” highlighted the voices and experiences of accomplished women professionals from the ACCA community. With the majority of the audience being female professionals, they keenly listened to how the speakers overcame their journeys toward membership while juggling study, work, and personal life. The panel included inspirational role models like Iffat Binte Rabbani FCCA (Assistant Vice President, HSBC), Rezwana Raza ACCA (Senior Global Accountant, Optimizely), Huma Ibnat ACCA (Senior Finance Manager, Optimizely), Sharmin Akhter ACCA (Manager, Mile & Associates, Maldives), and Tasfia Tabassum ACA, ACCA (Manager, Financial Accounts, Reckitt & Faculty at HeadStart). The session provided everyone with motivation to keep going, no matter what.
Last but not least, Raqibul Faiaze Md. Ikramah FCCA, CPA, Chief Accountant at Grameenphone Ltd, made his grand entry by engaging with the students on the topic of how to change the world with Sustainability Reporting. His perspective on making everyone stand in their own place to lead the community as a whole, and accounting for a better world, made the young professionals ponder upon the thought.
The day-long session was facilitated every now and then by Yusha Al Khondker FCCA, Lead Specialist at Grameenphone Ltd., Internal Audit & Co-founder of HeadStart. Mr. Yusha and his team from HeadStart have previously organized five more training programs like this to bridge the gap between ACCA members leading various local and global industries and students still pursuing global professional qualifications like ACCA or graduate/post-graduate degrees. The session ended with a quiz round and a certificate-giving ceremony. The future young professionals left the hall with a lot of practical insights to help them achieve their dream careers.
