Standard Chartered Bangladesh has won the Best International Trade Finance Bank of the Year Award in the ABF Wholesale Banking 2022 category at the Asian Banking and Finance (ABF) Awards. At the same time, the bank also received the Best Islamic Banking Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the ABF Retail Banking 2022 category. In addition, Standard Chartered won 31 international awards in 2021 to keep the country’s wheels moving. So, Standard Chartered Bank Won Two Awards At A Time.

Standard Chartered Bank started its first branch in Bangladesh in 1948, in Chattogram, the country’s port city and a central trading hub. With the acquisition of Grindlays Bank in August 2000, SCB inherited a presence in Bangladesh that dates back to 1905. They also acquired American Express Bank’s commercial banking business in 2006. Today, they are the only multinational universal bank serving the country. For as long as it has been around, SCB has been proud to be a partner in progress to Bangladesh.
