On July 14, the Cyberquad ATV for children will be available for purchase on Tesla’s China website and e-commerce platforms such as JD.com. It runs on lithium-ion batteries with a 188 Wh capacity, offering a range of up to 13 kilometers. Designed for kids aged 8-12 and with a maximum weight capacity of 50 kg, the ATV can reach a top speed of 8 km/h and has a runtime of approximately 1.5 hours. Originally announced in 2019 alongside the Cybertruck, the children’s version of the Cyberquad was officially launched in late 2021, priced at $1,900 in the US. However, it faced a recall in October 2022 due to safety concerns. The recall was prompted by an accident involving an adult and child, resulting in injuries. Tesla organized a battery design challenge in China for the Cyberquad, offering up to RMB 200,000 yuan in prizes, to encourage innovative battery system designs using 2170 cells.
