Toyota is suspending 14 production lines at eight factories in Japan. The prolonged COVID-19 lockdown in Shanghai, China, has made it difficult for the company to procure parts. The Japanese carmaker said the factories would be closed for a week. The article contains Toyota Suspending Production at Eight Factories in Japan.

In the new plan, Toyota has also reduced the target due to the suspension of production in the factories. As a result, seven lakh units of cars will be produced worldwide in May. Earlier, the company had announced a production target of 650,000 units.

Factories in Aichi and Fukuoka prefectures, including Motomachi and Miyata, will remain closed until May 18-21. Due to this, the production of about 30 thousand units of the company will be reduced. In addition, the company, which operates a total of 14 factories in Japan, said last month that some of the ten production lines at nine factories would be shut down in May due to a shortage of equipment.
