Volkswagen Entered to Compete With Tesla - theincap

Herbert Diz, Chief Executive of Volkswagen, says Tesla is operating at twice the electric car (EV) market speed. He said, however, that the company still needs to get the most complex factories fully operational and find qualified workers to win the competition because Volkswagen has also come a long way in the EV race. The article contains Volkswagen Entered to Compete With Tesla.

In this case, he added, “our speed will increase in the future. So Volkswagen’s competition with Tesla will be more difficult.” It is noted that Tesla claims Giga Berlin is currently capable of rolling out one model Y electric crossover in 10 hours. In contrast, Volkswagen aims to cut the rolling out time of EVs even further at its Trinity plant. So, it plans to use multiple advanced technologies. However, the automaker decides to use large die casting and significantly cut the number of components in its EVs.

Following this, Volkswagen Brand Production Chief Christian Vollmer said, “We want to set the standard with our production because the automaker’s goal is clear. We have achieved something significant if we can get to 10 hours.”

The report also claims that at the Trinity Plant, Volkswagen will condense multiple work steps into one through automation. It will shrink the size of the body shop and reduce the number of jobs requiring uncomfortable physical labor. Therefore, the automaker dubs this as an expansion of human-robot cooperation.
