Bangladesh has given its consent to a project to be funded by the World Bank for the displaced Rohingyas living in the country.
The project has been approved today by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina chaired the meeting.
The cost of the project will be Tk 4,081 crore, with the WB providing Tk 3,814 crore. Of the sum, Tk 1,485 crore will be given in grants and the rest – Tk 2,329 crore – as loans.
Sectors like education, health, road and infrastructure will get priority under the project.
