Mukesh Ambani, the Indian tycoon and chairman of Reliance Industries Limited, is making headlines by buying a house at a record price. He spent 16.3 million dollars on his new residence in Dubai. Mr. Ambani’s new home is located on Palm Jumeirah Island. Although the details are not known, it is assumed that there are all modern comforts. Mukesh Ambani Bought Mansion in Dubai For $163mn.
Mukesh Ambani bought this luxury house a few weeks ago from Kuwaiti businessman Mohammad Alshair, who owns local franchises of international companies like Starbucks, and H&M. Seven months ago, Mukesh bought another house in Dubai for his younger son Anant. The price of which is half of the new one, i.e., 8 million dollars which was considered a record price at the time.
Besides Dubai, Mukesh Ambani has properties in different countries, including USA, UK. However, the primary residence of this family is Antila, a 27-storey building in Mumbai. India’s second-highest billionaire recently ventured into the hospitality industry. They own about one-fifth of the equity in EIH, the operator of the chain hotel Oberoi. In addition, at the beginning of this year, he bought most of the shares of Mandarin Oriental in New York for 100 million dollars.
