BGMEA President Sees Promising RMG Export Opportunities to Brunei

The President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Mr. Faruque Hassan, has underscored the significant potential for the export of readymade garments to Brunei Darussalam, further solidifying the bilateral trade and investment opportunities between the two nations.

This revelation emerged during a recent meeting between Mr. Faruque Hassan and the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Bangladesh, Haji Haris Bin Haji Othman. The discussions, held at the BGMEA headquarters in the capital city, were accompanied by Rozaimee Abdullah, First Secretary of the High Commission, and BGMEA Director Neela Hosna Ara, and touched upon various aspects of mutual interest.

The deliberations revolved around the bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and Brunei Darussalam, recognizing the immense potential for collaboration in trade and investment, which could have a profound positive impact on both nations. Mr. Faruque Hassan, in particular, highlighted the remarkable opportunity for expanding readymade garment exports to Brunei Darussalam.

Underlining the industry’s growing focus on enhancing manufacturing capabilities for high-value garments and extending its presence in both traditional and emerging markets, Mr. Faruque Hassan sought the cooperation of the High Commissioner in exploring avenues to boost garment exports to Brunei Darussalam.

In his statement, Mr. Faruque Hassan emphasized that harnessing trade and investment opportunities would be mutually beneficial for both countries, contributing to economic growth and prosperity.
