Deliveroo has stopped its food delivery service in Australia. The UK-based catering company announced the closure of seven years of operations in the country. However, Deliveroo has taken this step citing the tough competition. So, Deliveroo Shut Down Food Delivery Business in Australia.
Three months earlier, Deliveroo had announced that it was closing operations from the Netherlands. Last year the company also closed its business operations in Spain. Deliveroo has 14,000 food delivery staff in Australia. Deliveroo enjoyed huge demand amid the COVID-19 restrictions.
However, after the relaxation of restrictions, that demand has gone down. In a statement, the company said its presence in four global organizations makes the market highly competitive. As a result, Deliveroo is unable to maintain a strong position locally.
