Indeed, 2021 is a significant year for the e-commerce sector in Bangladesh. Although it may seem wrong in the country, it has been a good year for the industry in the final analysis that has brought a great lesson for e-commerce. The issue needs to be considered from two angles.
One is supplying, and the other is demanding. The company has grown a lot in terms of supply because of Covid. And this was possible because there was undeniable demand.
Even incidents like Evaly have been positive for the e-commerce sector because now it got clear where the mistakes actually were. If this had not happened, then maybe it would not have been possible to know who is good and bad.
Now the consciousness among the consumers and sellers has been upgraded. Those who went around depositing money in institutions like Evaly, e-Orange, were not the actual consumers; in fact, they fell into greed. They took risks by investing. No one can guarantee their very natural profit.
However, how relatively less conscious people in remote areas and the city’s unemployed youth have succumbed to money in the form of investments has created fear and awareness among them! Of course, some people have been affected, but 2021 has been instructive and helpful for future e-commerce.
The question may arise, why did the unemployed youth lean towards this sector? It is true that there are not many places for unemployed youth to go. But when people think, those who have faced a drastic loss, whether they get their money back or not. The harsh truth is that some may, or some may not get.
