Former President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Ms. Rubana Haq has been recognized with the Human Right Award by CNMI (The National Chamber of Italian Fashion) Sustainable Fashion Awards 2022 during Milan Fashion Week. CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards 2022 nominated and awarded personalities who have appeared in the Italian and international fashion sector for their commitment and promises to sustainability in its highest sense, including vision, innovation, commitment to craftsmanship, inclusivity, circular economy, human rights, and environmental justice. Mr. Huq was recognized by the Artistic Director of Valentino, Pierpaolo Piccioli. Ms. Huq is the vice chancellor of the Asian University for Women at Chittagong. Other notable figures who were honored with the award included Eileen Fisher, and Giorgio Armani, and companies awarded for sustainability included Timberland, Bottega, and Zegna.
The CNMI, in collaboration with the United Nations Ethical Fashion Initiative (Efi), a program of the International Trade Centre, and with the support of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Ice Agency, and the Municipality of Milan, organized the ceremony for the delivery of the CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards 2022.
