The way the world eats is changing dramatically. Just under two decades ago, restaurant-quality meal delivery was still mostly limited to foods like Pizza and Chinese cuisine. However, food delivery has now become a global market worth more than $150 billion, having tripled since 2017. The origin of appealing, user-friendly apps and tech-enabled driver networks, coupled with changing consumer expectations, has unlocked ready-to-eat food delivery as a significant category.

Likewise, online shopping has gained popularity due to the busy daily schedules of personal and professional commitments. As we know that online shopping saves time, offers a wide range of items, and discount offers with more benefits. So electronic shopping is the present and the future of purchasing. Following the trend, Bangladesh does not have an exception because many online food ordering services are available in the country, which makes it easy for people to taste.

Among such initiatives, foodpanda Bangladesh is one of them, the country’s largest and fastest-growing food and grocery delivery platform. Over the past few years, it has built a solid business while expanding its operation in the country. Thus, this time, the edition introduces Ambareen Reza, Managing Director & Co-founder of foodpanda Bangladesh, a Berlin-based Delivery Hero SE subsidiary, a global leader in the online delivery marketplace.

In our exclusive interview, she conversed regarding the journey of establishing foodpanda in Bangladesh, her current initiatives, challenges, aspirations, organizational culture, and future ambition; and spoke concerning automation and significant technology upgrade in the company.
